It will be held at Ignatius Park College on <b>21st July</b>. More information coming soon.</p> <p><b>Volunteers are needed.</b> We especially need bar staff with 'responsible alcohol management certificates' on the day itself.</p> <H1 class=alt>Paluma Camp - January 2012</H1> <p>Camp report coming soon.</p> <H1 class=alt>TEN YEAR REUNION</H1> <P>To read all about our 10 year reunion held on 1st May 2010 click here &gt;&gt;&gt; <A href="reunion.htm">TEN YEAR REUNION</A></P> <H1 class=alt>Paluma Camp - September 2010</H1> <P>The annual September school holidays <B>Edmund Rice Camp</B> fell this year in the second week of the school holidays, running from the 28th September to the 1st October. In a change from the usual camp at hot, sunny Magnetic Island, this camp took us up into the <B>cool, misty mountains of Paluma</B>. With 18 participants and 26 volunteers on this camp it was the largest, and possibly the most enthusiastic camp of 2010. Our <B>medieval-themed adventures</B> took us up and down the range, from Paluma Dam to Little Crystal Creek. From outdoor sports and games on Tuesday afternoon down at the park, including a wild slip 'n' slide, to canoeing and exploring the dam on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, everyone charged in with enthusiasm to help forge a great week of fun and memories! Our traditional Thursday night challenge of <B>no cutlery for dinner</B> and dessert was met with gusto. Once everyone's faces were cleaned of their lovely mixture of spaghetti bolognese, ice cream and jelly, it was time for the disco night! Far from a medieval ball, our disco night was a chaotic mix of music, dance, songs and games, enjoyed by one and all.</P> <P>Although we were heading home on Friday, the adventure wasn't over yet! Revealing the <B>tie-dyed shirts</B> everyone had made on Wednesday, we then set about to signing, writing messages and drawing on them, for something along with the memories to remember camp by. After our <B>scavenger hunt</B> and a fantastic lunch, it was time to hit the road. The fun didn't stop there though, with camp songs (lyrics remembered or otherwise!) belted out as if we were only just setting out on our journey. Arriving back at the Holy Spirit car park, it was finally time for everyone to <B>say goodbye</B>, after having has a blast of a week, making new friends and having a great time! If you would like to <B>volunteer</B>, please go to the forms page and download an <A href="forms.htm">application form</A>.</P> <P>Preparations for the <B>next camp</B> are well underway. Once again the camp will be of 5 days duration with the first day training for volunteers (Big Buddies) at Ignatius Park College. You'll make some good friends, and have the opportunity for some deeply satisfying experiences of being <B>part of a team</B> stretching themselves to help kids.</P> <P>If you have been a volunteer a number of years ago, but have lost touch, we'd love to hear from you. In 2010 we had our <B>ten year reunion</B>.
